So people are all up in arms about the fact that James Frey admittedly embellished some, if not all, of his stories in his uber successful book A Million Little Pieces. I’m not going to say much, but if telling people that lies are true, if telling stories as if they are true (when indeed they are not) is wrong, then I don’t want to be right! If making a boring story exciting with a few pretend extracurricular activities is evil, then call me a Manson (take your pick) and let me blog away!
Did people jump all over Mr. Rogers when he played make believe? Ok then, lets all put on a cardigan, change our shoes, find some shiny sea shells, and make life more exciting with some well placed lies!
I’m out.

I simply and completely with all of my heart agree with you– i think. I don't see what the big deal is. Last time I checked it was called artistic license, my friend… artistic license. So the guy embellished just how bad drug addiction was… is that really so bad? if the lie is helping people make good choices about changing their lives, then isn't a lie ok?
