This is scary but I’m doing it anyway. If you’ll notice I’ve got a new widget on the side of my blog that lists my most commented on blog posts in history. You’ll then notice that the top one has 107 comments. Back then there were more people I knew blogging. Back then there were more people commenting. These days comments are few and far between.
What’s that? What’s that I hear? Is that a challenge?
You’re on. You’re on like applesauce.
Lets see if we can break the odds, lets see if we can break 107. Is that possible? I realize I’m asking a lot. But the challenge has been made. I realize I’m asking us all to sacrifice. So lets make it easy, here are some suggestions, some ways that I think we can make it happen and also a few rules:
- Just give a shout out- Tell me you’re there if you’ve never commented before
- One idea is to follow suit of a status update from facebook and start a story by writing one line that the next commenter then adds to
- Don’t comment 107 times in a row please, that would cheapen it a little bit
- Share the love and invite a friend or two to help me reach this goal
- Say whatever you want and just have fun with it…I know I will.
Oh, and one last thing…if I don’t get my comments I will be humiliated in front of all my friends.
Wow! My first comment! I'm well on my way.
Hey, I'm 2nd? Yippee! I am all about supporting a fellow blogger. Only 105 more to go . . .
104 bottles of heavily caffeinated beverage on the wall… 104 bottles of caffeinated beverage… take one down, pass it around…
Do these comments have to not be lame?
Ok so here is a comment its your 4th so only 103 more. I really liked your blog about the different churches you went to on Sunday. I had the opportunity back in the day to take a class and one of the assignments was to go to different churches and write a report on it. It really opens you mind to different things and for me I was really out of my comfort zone since I had basically went to only one church but it does give you some different perspective.
So now that i have left you a marathon message have a good day
You should have mentioned that you blog too. I just noticed your note on facebook and followed it through. I'll subscribe and keep up now.
I'll be honest folks, it's not that I don't think I'll make it to 107 (because if you really love me you'll get me there), it's just that I keep thinking of blogs I want to write.
I may have to abandon this effort by this afternoon. We'll see what we can do.
I'm commenting…. and now I'm done.
Ryan you know I am here!
"You're on like Applesauce" ??? You hipster you. I just can't keep up with all the latest slang. But I'll go ahead and post a comment anyway. I certainly don't want you to be humiliated in front of both your friends. No… that's not what I meant. I meant to say ALL your friends. (Kayla says hello too)
I could never let you be humiliated in front of your friends!
nice……………
I do enjoy checking your blog occasionally. I don't check it more often because I can't stand all the excitement at my age!
Did enjoy the article on visiting churches. I am in charge of the "greeting committee" and oftened wondered what was too much and wan seemed insincere.
Keep up the good work.
Hey Brittany, and I know you're out there, I haven't quit yet so please comment…and say something really funny please.
What's green and white and smells like you?
ok well here I am commenting on your blog, dont give up I think u should repost on facebook reminding people to comment:) p.s. so much pressure to say something funny I just cant bring myself to say anything funny
I realize I am quite late in commenting for this challenge…but it looks like about 85 other people are too, so I think I'm good.
wow ryan, you are my hero
thanks Jess
no problem
sorry guys, that was all just an attempt to get my comments high enough to get this post on the "All Time Most Comments" list on the sidebar of my blog. Pathetic I know.
